Another new addition for 2024 from Futura Corse and Extrema Kart Speedway is the Extrema Night Series, an evolution of last year's single-night races into a full championship, spread over four rounds, all held on Tuesday evenings between May and September. The format for this race, in which Simone Marchetti participated as the representative of ASD Cavalieri Garage, is the same as the Iron format: a 10-minute qualifying session followed by a single 30-lap race, with no mandatory pit stops.
RACE
After the unfortunate Iron race two days ago, a strong response was needed. Simone Marchetti rose to the occasion, claiming a fantastic pole position with a time of 45.035 seconds, beating the other 10 competitors registered for the race.
After sunset, the race began with an exciting battle among the top four drivers: Marchetti, Ghidini, Tondelli, and Ferri. Unfortunately, Falasca broke his chain while in the leading group and had to retire. In the first half of the race, everyone remained relatively conservative, with Tondelli using the slipstream to move into the lead, followed by Ghidini and Marchetti. Around the twentieth lap, the fight for the podium resumed, with Ghidini just a few tenths ahead of Marchetti. The two remained locked in a battle until the finish line, trailing a victorious Tondelli and crossing the line only 81 milliseconds apart.
