REPORT: EXTREMA SPRINT SERIES ROUND 5 2024

Second appearance in five rounds for ASD Cavalieri Garage in the Extrema Sprint Series, after missing three rounds due to other commitments. Simone Marchetti returns to the starting line of the sprint series after participating in the first round, which took place on March 10th under rainy conditions. On this occasion, he debuts his new personal helmet, a result of the partnership between Cavalieri Garage and G-FORCE Racing Gear, a well-known American company specializing in helmets and sports apparel for karting and motorsports. Seventeen competitors, divided into Sport and Rookie categories, battled it out in a 10-minute qualifying session and two 12-lap races, the second of which was held on the reverse layout of the Massa Finalese (MO) circuit.

RACE 1

A close and intense qualifying session sees Simone Marchetti start in fifth position, just three-tenths of a second off Niccolò Mannelli’s pole position. The race features fierce competition throughout the 12 laps, with Marchetti finishing in fifth place after a long battle with Carlo Alberto Sala and Mario de Seneen.

RACE 2

The second race of the day took place on the reverse layout of the track, with the starting order being the complete reverse of the race 1 standings. This puts Simone Marchetti in thirteenth position at the start. After a good rolling start, his kart begins to experience rear grip issues that are difficult to manage. Despite some exciting battles with other drivers, Marchetti holds onto the thirteenth position by the end of the 12 laps.
