WEC: BARCELONA AND MONZA ADDED AS NEW SEASON FINALE VENUES, REPLACING QATAR AND BAHRAIN

The FIA World Endurance Championship has officially reshaped the final part of its 2026 calendar, with Monza and Barcelona replacing the Qatar 1812 km and the 8 Hours of Bahrain. The two European rounds will now serve as the final events of the season following the 6 Hours of Fuji.

The ACO and FIA confirmed the cancellation of both Middle Eastern races due to the ongoing regional conflict that has affected the area since February. As a result, the championship will conclude its season back in Europe.

For the Temple of Speed, it marks a welcome return. Monza will host the FIA WEC for the fourth time, following previous editions in 2021, 2022, and 2023, while the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will make its first-ever appearance on the World Endurance Championship calendar.

The Spanish event is scheduled for October 18, while Monza will host the season's second Italian round on November 8, following the 6 Hours of Imola earlier in the year. The traditional Rookie Test, originally planned for Bahrain, is also expected to take place at Monza the following day.

Before the championship reaches its new European finale, the FIA WEC will still visit Circuit of The Americas and Fuji Speedway, which remain unchanged as the seventh and eighth rounds of the season.

The Middle Eastern events are already set to return in 2027. Both Qatar and Bahrain have been confirmed for next year's schedule, which will also feature the long-awaited return of Silverstone, announced during the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as the ninth round of the championship.
