After a difficult month of May in Indianapolis, Alex Palou bounced back in style in the NTT IndyCar Series. The Spanish driver for Chip Ganassi Racing delivered a commanding performance behind the wheel of the No. 10 Honda, successfully defending his Detroit crown after winning the event last season.

Coming off disappointing results in both the Indianapolis Grand Prix and the iconic Indianapolis 500, Palou sent a clear message with a flawless performance, once again proving why he remains the benchmark of the series.

The victory also marked another missed opportunity for General Motors. Chevrolet is still searching for its first win in the event held in the shadow of the automotive giant’s headquarters, a frustrating streak that remains unbroken.

Finishing second once again was Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood in the No. 27 machine. The American driver did his best to keep pace with the championship leader but was never truly able to challenge for the win. Completing the podium was Graham Rahal in the No. 15 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing entry, delivering a strong drive to finish ahead of the two Arrow McLaren Chevrolets driven by Pato O’Ward and Christian Lundgaard.

With the result, Palou further strengthens his position at the top of the championship standings, increasing his advantage over his closest rivals in a season that continues to showcase his remarkable consistency and speed.

The IndyCar Series will return to oval racing next weekend at Gateway. After that, the schedule will feature a notable change compared to 2025: the championship will take a strategic break, avoiding a scheduling conflict with the 24 Hours of Le Mans, allowing teams and drivers to focus on their respective commitments without overlap.
