Arrow McLaren returned to the top of IndyCar with a commanding one-two finish at Mid-Ohio. Pato O'Ward finally ended a long winless streak by claiming the tenth victory of his NTT IndyCar Series career after a dominant weekend alongside teammate Christian Lundgaard.

The race quickly became an all-McLaren affair, as the No. 5 and No. 7 cars controlled the pace from start to finish. Lundgaard, who started from pole position, led the early stages before O'Ward made his move during the middle portion of the race, taking control when it mattered most. The decisive pass secured O'Ward's first career victory at Mid-Ohio.

Behind the McLaren duo, Kyle Kirkwood brought the No. 27 Andretti entry home in third, followed by Rinus VeeKay in the No. 76 Juncos car. Alex Palou salvaged a fifth-place finish for Chip Ganassi Racing despite never emerging as a serious contender for victory.

The Spaniard lacked the pace to challenge for the win, but the points accumulated throughout the season allow him to remain comfortably at the top of the championship standings, preserving his position as the title favorite.

Will Power completed the top six in the No. 26 Andretti after a remarkably clean race that featured no caution periods whatsoever, an increasingly uncommon occurrence in modern IndyCar competition.

Attention now shifts to a completely different challenge, as the series heads to the high-speed Nashville oval in two weeks, where the championship battle could once again take an unexpected turn.
